LITS2203 SHAKESPEARE I: HISTORIES AND COMEDIES

BOOKLIST 2015-2016

Booklist Advice

Please bring to class EITHER the printed versions OR the PDF versions listed below of the plays scheduled.

Printed versions: the Arden (Routledge) and the New Swan (Longman) editions of individual plays are widely used in schools and universities and may be found in the Main Library as well as, hopefully, many bookstores both in Barbados (e.g. the UWI Bookshop) and online (e.g. Amazon).  Alternatively, you may prefer to use The Riverside Shakespeare anthology which is the standard in the field and copies of which you will find in the Main Library and many bookstores (they may still be sold by the UWI Bookshop).  Please bear in mind that lecturers have no control over what, when or whether the UWI Bookshop orders what we request even at the best of times, a situation exacerbated in times of economic crisis.  It might be helpful to check with other bookstores such as Cloister's and Day's Books to see what they have in stock currently.

Online Versions: though there are many great archives online, the Shakespeare archive at Folger Digital Texts (see the links below) is the one which, for purposes of standardisation, I would like all students to use, if one is unwilling or unable to buy one of the printed editions above.
